SUMMARY
The Dallas Fort Worth region is a massive and ever-expanding metropolitan area and the City of Garland sits near its heart. As the region's development energy marches northward toward the Oklahoma border, close-in suburbs like Garland risk being leapfrogged by residential and retail demand. During 2025 and 2026, czb worked with the City to develop a housing strategy aimed at preserving the city's competitive position and boosting neighborhood quality of life, while simultanously addressing both longstanding and more recent affordability concerns. The strategy was completed and adopted in spring 2026.
