On Saturday February 20, 2010 72 residents and stakeholders from the four neighborhoods that make up the Greater Park Place Community came together with czb to kickoff a nine month planning and revitalization strategy process.

City Councilors Daun Hester and Theresa Whibley, MD opened the session.  Steering Committee co-chairs Reggie King and Alton Robinson welcomed everyone to the beginning of what will prove to be an innovative and in some ways make or break intervention into the community.

The Greater Park Place Community is comprised of four neighborhoods:  Lamberts Point, Kensington, Park Place, and Villa Heights.  As residents led discussions about their history of working together, their strengths, and personal accountability, there were lively debates about property standards and neighborliness and housing market strength.  The Honorable Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-3) joined the group for about an hour.
